Survey Work for I-69 to Close Lanes on Hwy 41

File

Daytime restrictions are planned in Henderson County

Survey work for an I-69 bridge between Henderson and Evansville will close some lanes of Highway 41, starting Thursday. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Lane closures are expected on 41 between KY 425 and KY 2084 as crews continue survey work for Section 1 of the I-69 Ohio River Crossing.

Project spokeswoman Mindy Peterson says the restrictions should be limited to between 9am to 3pm on Thursday and Friday.

The shoulder of US 41 southbound is also expected to close Friday for work in the area. The shoulder closure will be south of the US 60 interchange.

Drivers are urged to slow down, stay alert and use caution in the area.

State and local officials broke ground on the approach to the planned I-69 bridge in June.

Kentucky Transportation Secretary Jim Gray said if the project stays on track, the new four-lane bridge could open in less than ten years

The toll bridge would be east of the current Twin Bridges.

Plans call for removing one of the existing bridges and keeping the other for local traffic.
