Evansville Man Sentenced to 15 Years on Federal Child Abuse Charges

File

Officials say Chris Carder II confessed to the crimes in 2020

An Evansville man will serve fifteen years in federal prison after pleading guilty to the distribution of materials depicting child sexual abuse. WNIN’s Sarah Kuper has more:

An undercover FBI agent working in Salt Lake City discovered thirty six year old Chris Carder II was involved in the online trafficking of explicit and violent videos of children being abused. After months of tracking Carder’s activity online a search was executed on his Evansville home in March of 2020. Carder admitted to the crimes.

As part of the sentence, US District Judge Richard Young ordered that Carder be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for eight years following his release and pay $6,000 in restitution to the child exploitation victims. He must also register as a sex offender.
