Police arrested the suspect after a manhunt

Authorities have released the identities of two men killed in Thursday night’s shooting at a Henderson homeless shelter. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Henderson Police say 44-year-old Chad Holmes and 67-year-old Steven Wathen died in the gunfire at the Harbor House Christian Center on Clay St.

Two other men were wounded, identified only as 33 and 41 years old. All four were residents of Harbor House.

After the shooting, a manhunt began for the suspect, 37-year-old Kenneth Gibbs of Henderson, who had left the shelter driving a white Toyota Prius.

Police tracked Gibbs to the Hays Boat Ramp on N. Elm St. and took him into custody about three hours after the shooting.

The HPD says Gibbs was armed with a handgun.

Police took him to the Henderson County jail, where he faces two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
