Firefighter Robert Doerr was shot and killed in 2019

The widow of an Evansville firefighter is one of two people charged with murder for the firefighter’s death. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Elizabeth Fox-Doerr and Larry Richmond Sr. have been charged in the death of Robert Doerr.

He was shot and killed outside his home in the 2700 block of Oakley St. in February 2019.

Elizabeth Fox-Doerr was incarcerated last month on charge of Perjury.

Richmond has been incarcerated since 2019 on federal gun charges.

Evansville Police say the two-and-a-half year probe of Doerr’s death was a joint investigation involving multiple agencies including the Vanderburgh County Cyber Crimes Task Force, the FBI, and the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office.
