College Swimming and Diving Event Moving to Evansville

City of Evansville

The Deaconess Aquatic Center will host the GLVC event the next two years

A major swimming and diving competition is coming to Evansville’s new Deaconess Aquatic Center. WNIN’s Sarah Kuper has more on the college-level event:

The state-of-the-art swimming and diving complex has been chosen to host the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s and Women’s swimming and diving competition in 2023 and 2024.

The four-day event will bring athletes from all over the Midwest to compete at the Lilly King Competition Pool at the Deaconess Aquatic Center. The space can seat nearly a thousand spectators.

Evansville’s Ford Center and historic Bosse Field have also hosted Great Lakes Valley Conference championships. The swimming competition has previously been held in Elkhart, Indiana.

This announcement comes after the NCAA announced plans to host its 2026 Division II men’s and Women’s national championships at the new aquatic center as well.

The GLVC championships will begin in February.
