EPD: 19-year-old Found Shot to Death

Police are asking for the public's help

A young man is dead after a shooting in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Evansville Police Sgt. Anna Gray says officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Jefferson Ave. at about 2:45 Tuesday morning for a report of shots fired and a person down.

Gray says the caller told Central Dispatch they heard 5-to-6 shots and saw someone lying in an alley.

When Officers arrived, they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and not breathing.

The EPD says officers attempted life saving measures until AMR arrived but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Tel’Majae Caimron McGee.

The coroner’s office said an autopsy would be conducted.

Police said no arrests have been made.
