Police have arrested a Jasper man accused of driving 105 miles an hour while drunk on I-69. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Indiana State Police say a trooper patrolling the interstate in Gibson County spotted the speeding car Monday afternoon.
The driver stopped and was identified as 34-year-old Matthew Hill of Jasper.
The ISP says Hill displayed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests.
They said further investigation revealed Hill had a blood alcohol content of .19% -- more than twice the legal limit.
The trooper arrested Hill and he was taken to the Gibson County Jail.
Police have stopped numerous drivers traveling more than 100 miles an hour along rural stretches of I-69 since the interstate opened in southwest Indiana in 2012.
