Two Men Killed in Gunfire at North Side Apartment

File

Police don't believe there's a suspect at large

Authorities have identified two men who died in a shooting on Evansville’s North Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 43-year-old Vito Arcado Allen of 1102 W. Mill Road and 50-year-old Thomas James of White Creeks, Tennessee.

Autopsies were scheduled for Monday evening.

Evansville Police were dispatched to Allen’s apartment building at about 9:00 Sunday night.

EPD Sgt. Anna Gray says officers could hear someone inside yelling about being shot, and they found two men on the floor in a pool of blood.

Gray said one was deceased and police rendered first aid to the other victim until an ambulance arrived and took him to a hospital.

That victim was pronounced dead at Deaconess.

The EPD says there does not appear to be a threat to public safety and detectives are not actively seeking a person of interest or a suspect.
