A man is dead following a weekend fire in Owensboro. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
Firefighters responded to the 600 block of Walnut Street after a neighbor reported smoke coming from a structure Saturday night.
The Owensboro Fire Department says when crews arrived, they found smoke coming from a building in the back yard of a home.
On its Facebook page, the department said firefighters searched the structure and found a deceased man.
The Daviess County Coroner’s office identified the victim Monday as 68-year-old Michael Jennings of Owensboro.
The coroner’s office said Jennings died of smoke inhalation.
Owensboro police are investigating.
