Suspicious Fire Damages Evansville Home

File

EFD: House also burned in January

Authorities are investigating a suspicious house fire on Evansville’s North Side. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

A supervisor at Central Dispatch told WNIN that crews were sent to the house at 831 Allens Lane, near First Avenue, at about 5:20 Tuesday morning.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting from the two-story house.

They battled the blaze for more than 20 minutes, before a district chief at the scene declared the fire tapped out at 5:45.

The house was not occupied and no injuries were reported.

Evansville Police were sent to the scene to assist in the investigation.

EFD Division Chief Mike Larson says there was a fire at the same address in January.

There was no word on the cause of the latest fire.
