A crash on Highway 41 in Gibson County claimed the life of a woman and injured a man and a child. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The crash happened during the noon hour Wednesday on 41 by the Toyota plant.
Multiple news media outlets report an SUV ran off the roadway, crossed a grass median, and rolled several times.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Todd Ringle said none of the vehicle's three occupants were wearing seatbelts, and all three were ejected from the SUV.
Another vehicle reportedly struck and killed the female driver after she was ejected.
The child, who police believe was in a car seat that wasn’t strapped to the vehicle, was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. An ambulance took the man to a hospital.
The names of the deceased and injured have not been released.
The northbound lanes of U.S. 41 were closed for a while as an ISP reconstruction team investigated the crash.
