Host Cass Herrington investigates the state of Evansville typography -- the old, the new and the yet to be developed.
On today's program, we're visiting the old signs that linger on Evansville's street corners and sidewalks. Old typefaces tell stories about the period they were designed and about the painstaking process that their craftsmen spent to create them.
Designer Jesse Southerland documented these photos in 2007 when he was living in Evansville. They will be published in an upcoming book by Steven Heller, called "Found Type."
