A recently-opened South Bend clinic that performs abortions gets to stay open after a federal appeals court ruling issued Thursday.

 

Anti-abortion activists from across northern Indiana rallied against the opening of a clinic that provides abortions in South Bend on Saturday. About 300 people attended including Indiana’s Attorney General.

 

A federal judge heard an abortion provider’s case against the state Monday over its efforts to open a clinic in South Bend. The group argues the state department of health’s licensing requirements are unconstitutionally vague.

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill responded to a federal lawsuit Monday filed by Whole Woman’s Health Alliance. The alliance has worked since 2017 to open an abortion clinic in South Bend.
