Volunteers will fan out across two Evansville neighborhoods this weekend to boost fire safety.

The American Red Cross, the Evansville Fire Department, and The Promise Zone have partnered in the Home Fire Campaign.

Theo Boots of the Red Cross says volunteers will meet at the C.K. Newsome Center at 8:45 Saturday morning to learn about delivering and installing smoke detectors in homes that need them.

She says after training, teams of two and three volunteers will canvas the Akin Park and Tepe Park neighborhoods.
