Old Man Winter is hitting the Tri-State hard again. The National Weather Service says a strong cold front moved through the Evansville area early Monday, after a balmy high of 55 degrees on Sunday. Little or no snow accompanied the cold blast in our area, but subfreezing temperatures and bitter wind chills are expected through Wednesday. The mercury will flirt with the zero mark Tuesday morning, with wind chills well below that. The temperature is expected to rise above freezing by Thursday. As we shiver here in the Tri-State, some people might find our weather comparatively mild. At mid-morning Monday, the temperature in International Falls, Minnesota, was 23-below zero, with a wind child of minus-31.
