Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke wants to ramp-up plans for four local projects.
Winnecke is promoting Build 4 Evansville as a way to improve quality of life.
He says one of the projects is Mesker Amphitheatre, where Leadership Evansville will conduct three public meetings in June.
Winnecke also touted plans for a carousel and aviary at Mesker Park Zoo, and he says money needs to be raised to install a penguin exhibit.
He also wants to move forward on replacing Lloyd Pool, and to use $100,000 donated by the Evansville Rotary Club to complete the first phase of Roberts Park.
Winnecke says it’s important to plan now so when the money is available, plans are ready to be executed.
City Council members Missy Mosby and Jonathan Weaver showed support by attending the mayor’s news conference.
