Warrick COVID Toll Climbs to 60; Vanderburgh Adds 58 New Infections

The COVID death toll in Warrick County has reached 60. 

The Indiana State Department of Health announced one new COVID-related death in Warrick County.

In its Friday report, the state agency recorded no new deaths in Vanderburgh, Posey, or Gibson counties.

58 new infections were tallied in Vanderburgh County, raising the county’s total since March to more than 5,200. The seven-day positivity rate was 7.6 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana rose to 182, with less than 21 percent of intensive care beds available.

Statewide, the agency reported 22 new COVID-related deaths and more than 2,300 new cases.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported 84 new infections in its seven-county region – 32 of them in Henderson County and 23 in Daviess County.

No new COVID-related deaths were recorded in the Green River District. 36 COVID patients were in hospitals.
