The COVID death toll has jumped to 70 in Vanderburgh County and 34 in Henderson County.
The Indiana State Department of Health announced six new COVID-related fatalities in Vanderburgh County.
The agency also reported 45 new infections in Vanderburgh -- down a bit from recent daily totals.
No new coronavirus deaths were reported in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana stood at 154, with only about 20 percent of intensive care beds available in the 12-county region.
Statewide, 33 new COVID-related deaths were recorded on the Wednesday dashboard, with nearly 2,600 new infections.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department announced two new fatalities in Henderson County, along with 74 new infections in the seven-county region.
The department reported 28 hospitalized COVID patients.
