Vanderburgh Vaccinations Top 60,000; No New Deaths

The number of fully vaccinated residents in Vanderburgh County has surged past 60,000. 

The Indiana Department of Health counted more than 1,100 local residents receiving their full COVID-19 vaccine on the Thursday dashboard.

The total of 60,669 vaccinated residents is well past a third of Vanderburgh County’s population.

There was also encouraging news as the agency reported no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

Nine new infections were tallied in Vanderburgh, with lesser amounts in surrounding counties.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients rose by four to 40 across the 12-county district of southwest Indiana.

Statewide, eleven new fatalities were added, along with 1,400 new infections.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded 27 new infections but no new COVID-related deaths.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the seven-county district fell to nine.
