There’s a big increase in the number of COVID cases in Vanderburgh County.
After a single-digit increase on Wednesday, the Indiana State Department of Health’s Thursday dashboard showed 62 new infections in the county.
It raised Vanderburgh County’s total since mid-March to 2,876. The county’s death toll held at 23.
No new COVID-related deaths were recorded in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.
Statewide, 13 more fatalities were reported -- raising the pandemic total to 3,186.
More than 102,000 Hoosiers have tested positive since mid-March.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported 31 new cases in its seven-county region – more than half of them in Daviess County.
The department said the total of positive infections rose past 2,500 with 30 deaths.
