Vanderburgh COVID Infections Up 62 as Surge Continues

The post-Labor Day surge of new COVID cases continues in Vanderburgh County.

The Indiana State Department of Health tallied 62 new infections in the county on its Tuesday dashboard.

It pushes Vanderburgh’s total since mid-March to 3,445. The county’s death toll held at 30.

The percentage of infections among school-aged residents -- under the age of 20 -- fell slightly to 14.7 percent. The overall positivity rate was just over three percent.

No COVID-related deaths were recorded in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

Statewide, the agency reported nine new fatalities and more than 650 new infections.

The Green River District Health Department tallied 50 new COVID cases in its Tuesday report, but no new deaths in its seven-county region.

16 new infections were recorded in Henderson County and 14 in Daviess County.
