Vanderburgh COVID Death Toll Rises to 80; Warrick Up to 67

COVID-19 has claimed two more lives in Vanderburgh County and one more in Warrick County. 

On its Tuesday dashboard, the Indiana State Department of Health said Vanderburgh’s death toll had reached 80, while Warrick’s toll climbed to 67.

The number of infections in Vanderburgh rose by 52. That’s a smaller increase than in recent days, but it boosted the total since March above 6,800.

Warrick County’s new infections rose by 18.

No new COVID-related deaths were recorded in Posey or Gibson counties.

162 COVID patients were hospitalized in southwest Indiana, with just 20 percent of intensive care beds available in the 12-county district.

Statewide, 50 new fatalities were added with more than 2,900 new infections.

Indiana’s COVID death toll was just one short of 4,200. Another 240 are considered probable COVID fatalities.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported 98 new infections and one COVID-related death in Ohio County.

33 COVID patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
