Two new COVID-related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh County, while the first coronavirus fatality has been recorded in Posey County.
The Indiana State Department of Health announced Vanderburgh’s 20th and 21st fatalities and Posey County’s first in its Friday report.
No new deaths were reported in Warrick or Gibson counties.
Statewide, Indiana recorded 17 new COVID-related deaths and more than 1,000 new infections.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported 48 new cases in its seven-county region – 15 each in Daviess and Union counties.
The agency said 15 people with confirmed infections are currently hospitalized.
No new COVID-related deaths were recorded in the Green River District.
Health officials are urging everyone to stay safe over the Labor Day weekend and follow the “Three W’s”: wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance.
