Vanderburgh COVID Cases Rise by 28

The number of new COVID infections continues to rise in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky. 

The Indiana State Department of Health announced 28 new infections in the county but no new fatalities on the Monday dashboard.

Vanderburgh County’s death toll did rise by one over the weekend to 24, and the overall number of cases surpassed 3,000.

The county’s percentage of school-aged cases – ages zero to 19 – rose to about 14 percent on Monday.

Two statewide fatalities and more than 750 new infections were recorded in the Monday report.

One new COVID-related death was reported in Dubois County on Saturday.

The Green River District Health Department reported 52 new cases – but no new deaths -- in its seven-county region on Monday.

21 new infections were reported in Daviess County and 15 in Henderson County.
