USI Professor To Serve On State Commission

A USI professor has been appointed to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.

Trent Engbers is joining the commission as the body’s Faculty Commission Member.

Engbers is an associate professor of political science and public administration and director of the master of public administration program at the University of Southern Indiana.

Gov. Eric Holcomb announced Engbers’ appointment to the 14-member commission, following a recommendation from the commission’s faculty nominating Committee in May.

Engbers replaces Dr. Kathy Parkison of Indiana University Kokomo, who was appointed in 2017.

Faculty Commission Members serve two-year terms.

Engbers is a former Peace Corp volunteer with previous faculty experience at Notre Dame and IU.
