Traffic shift coming to Lloyd-41

Major changes are coming to the Lloyd Expressway-Highway 41 cloverleaf project.

INDOT says the project is about half-completed, so crews will shift Lloyd traffic to new pavement this Wednesday -- with two narrow lanes remaining open on both the Lloyd and on 41.

Jason Tiller of INDOT tells WNIN that the new construction phase will temporarily close ramps connecting 41 and eastbound Lloyd, but permanently remove the stoplights on the expressway.

Tiller says crews will erect signs to help drivers find alternate routes, as new ramps are built for eastbound Lloyd. The agency says new ramps have been built to connect 41 and the westbound Lloyd.

The eastbound ramps are expected to be built in four months. The entire project is scheduled to wrap up by the end of this year.
