Strong Storms Roll Through Tri-State; More Possible

The National Weather Service says severe storms are possible in the Evansville area through midday Thursday.

Forecasters say large hail and damaging winds are the primary hazards, but they say a few tornadoes are possible near frontal boundaries.

Heavy rain flooded numerous roads in the Tri-State Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service recorded more than an inch of rain in Evansville between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. Some areas saw higher amounts.

Emergency personnel rescued drivers from high water, especially on rural roads.

In northern Posey County, multiple accidents were reported on I-64 between state roads 69 and 165, as water rose on the interstate.

The weather service says strong thunderstorms will be possible through noon Thursday across southwest Indiana and western Kentucky.
