Storms knock out power to thousands

A line of severe storms downed tree limbs and power lines across the Tri-State, leaving thousands without electricity.

The line of storms rolled out of southeast Illinois and across the Wabash River at about 10:00 Tuesday morning, after the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for White County.

The weather service issued numerous severe thunderstorm warnings as the line of storms moved eastward.

During the 11:00 a.m. hour, Vectren reported more than 9,000 customers without power in southwest Indiana.

Evansville Central Dispatch reported a utility pole and lines down on Kratzville Road between Buena Vista and Mill Road.

Indiana State Police reported tree limbs down on I-64, east of Griffin in Posey County.

High winds are suspected of blowing over a semi on Highway 41 near Coal Mine Road in Gibson County.

The southbound lanes were blocked until crews could upright the trailer.
