St. Mary's ranked among top 5 Indiana hospitals

An annual report on the nation’s top hospitals ranks St. Mary’s Medical Center among the top 5 in Indiana.

U.S. News and World Report looks at performances in categories like structure, process, and outcomes for its annual rankings. The magazine also studies 16 specialties.

St. Mary’s in Evansville finished in a tie for 4th place among Hoosier hospitals.

A news release from St. Mary’s notes this is the second year in a row for the ranking as 4th in the state out of about 150 hospitals

The magazine ranked Evansville’s Deaconess Hospital 8th in the state.

The report says IU Health Academic Health Center in Indianapolis is the top hospital in Indiana, followed by St. Vincent Hospital and Health Center in Indy, and Franciscan St. Francis Health, also in Indianapolis.
