Six more COVID 19-related deaths have been recorded in southwest Indiana.
The Indiana Department of Health announced two new fatalities in Vanderburgh County, two in Warrick County, and two in Dubois County.
Vanderburgh’s death toll climbed to 364, all but ensuring the county will have averaged more than one COVID-related death a day during the pandemic.
On the Friday dashboard, new infections continued to rise at a slower pace, with 48 new cases added in Vanderburgh, 13 in Warrick, 12 in Dubois, and single-digit increases in Posey and Gibson counties.
And hospitalizations continued to fall, dropping below 100 in southwest Indiana for the first time since mid-September. 43 percent of intensive care beds were available in the 12-county region.
Statewide, the agency announced 86 more COVID-related deaths and more than 1,400 new infections.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department added 108 infections but no new deaths in the seven-county region.
The number of COVID patients in the hospital fell by two to 29.
