Six More COVID Deaths Recorded in Southwest IN and Western KY

More COVID 19–related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh, Gibson, and Daviess counties. 

The Green River District Health Department announced four new COVID-related deaths in Daviess County, pushing the county’s toll to 113.

The department also added 264 infections, with 48 COVID patients hospitalized in the seven-county region.

The agency says 4.5% of COVID patients in the district have been hospitalized during the pandemic.

On the Indiana side of the river, the state department of health recorded one new death in Vanderburgh County and another in Gibson County.

Vanderburgh’s pandemic toll rose to 210 on the Wednesday dashboard. The county also saw 173 new infections.

No new COVID-related fatalities were added in Warrick or Posey counties.

Across southwest Indiana, the number of hospitalized COIVD patients jumped by 21 to 257, with 20.5 percent of intensive care beds available in the 12-county region.

Statewide, 59 new COVID-related deaths were recorded, along with nearly 3,700 new infections.
