A Second Chance at Life: Part One

Today Show - Google

A 13-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder and sentenced to life in prison in 1990. During his 26 years in prison, he spent 18 in solitary confinement. There he corresponded with the woman he shot.

She had befriended and forgiven him. This act of forgiveness was crucial in his release at 40 years of age. This is a combination of phone and in-person interviews where I talked to Ian Manuel about his story.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of this story.
