A Rarity: No New COVID Deaths or Infections in Vanderburgh County

No new COVID 19-related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana or western Kentucky. 

The Indiana Department of Health added no new COVID-related fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

In a rare report, no new COVID infections were tallied in Vanderburgh County on the Monday dashboard, while just 68 more local residents were added to the ranks of fully vaccinated.

The county’s total of fully vaccinated residents tops 71,000.

The local seven-day positivity rate fell slightly to seven percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county district of southwest Indiana held at 33.

Statewide, a half dozen COVID-related deaths were added with more than 550 new infections.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded 33 new COVID infections but no new COVID-related deaths.

A dozen coronavirus patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
