In a release, Evansville Police said officers were called to the 1700 block of S. Bedford Ave. at about 3:00 a.m. Wednesday for an infant that wasn’t breathing.

The EPD said when officers arrived, they performed CPR on the child until Evansville firefighters and AMR medics showed up to take over the life-saving measures.

AMR took the baby to a hospital, where the child was pronounced dead a short time later.

There’s no word yet on the child’s identity or the cause of death.

There’s also no word of any criminal charges.
