Pier One is closing all of its stores, including the one on Evansville’s East Side.
The national home décor chain says on its website that it’s conducting a nationwide going out of business sale.
Evansville's Pier 1 store is in the Target complex at the Lloyd and Burkhardt.
The chain had struggled to compete with online retailers, and was planning to close half of its stores before the pandemic hit.
The retailer filed for bankruptcy protection.
The chain of stores used to be called Pier One Imports.
