Rainy weather postponed the arrival of a P-47 Thunderbolt in Evansville.
On its Facebook page, the P-47 Foundation said the flight team, the pilot, and the foundation agreed to delay Thursday’s flight.
The plane, nicknamed Tarheel Hal, is now scheduled to arrive Friday afternoon between 1:00 and 2:00.
It’s expected to make a series of passes over Evansville and Dress Plaza, weather permitting.
The public can also catch a glimpse of the plane on the ground from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday on the ramp between Tri-State Aero and the Hampton Inn on Flightline Drive, off U.S. 41.
The plane will then be moved to the Evansville Wartime Museum on Petersburg Road, while the P-47 Foundation continues to raise money to keep the plane in Evansville permanently.
The plane was among thousands built by Republic Aviation in Evansville during World War II.
