An Oakland City man is sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison after being convicted of orchestrating a fraud scheme.
A judge sentenced 38-year-old Joshua W. Eaden to 46 months in prison.
In a release, U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler said Eaden was the manager of the Best-One Tire & Service business in Princeton.
Prosecutors said Eaden schemed to defraud Gibson County Coal by submitting more than 300 false tire service invoices, amounting to more than $189,000.
Minkler said Eaden also included tire manufacturers in his scheme.
A jury returned its verdict in October, finding Eaden guilty of 17 Counts of wire and mail fraud.
The sentencing hearing was delayed several times by Eaden based on claims that he suffered a medical problem that rendered him legally blind.
But surveillance evidence allowed by the judge included video recordings and photographs of Eaden playing golf and driving a golf cart, even as he asked the Court to delay his sentencing because of a loss of vision.
