A long-time NPR host, correspondent, and writer will be the featured guest at next month’s WNIN Gala.

NPR’s Scott Simon will join the event virtually and live from Washington DC.

Simon is the host of Weekend Edition Saturday and is one of the hosts of NPR's morning news podcast Up First.

He’s reported from all fifty states, five continents, and ten wars, from El Salvador to Sarajevo to Afghanistan and Iraq.

His books have chronicled war and peace, sports, art, tragedy, and comedy – topping several non-fiction bestseller lists.

Simon’s latest book, My Cubs: A Love Story, chronicles his lifelong fandom of the Chicago Cubs, and their historic World Series victory in 2016.

His upcoming book will feature Evansville’s very own Otters and Bosse Field.

The WNIN Gala is set for Saturday, January 22, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Evansville.

Ticket information is available at wnin.org or by calling 812-423-2973.
