No New Deaths But COVID Infections Still Rising in SW Indiana

COVID-19 infections continued to rise in southwest Indiana ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend. 

The Indiana Department of Health counted 73 more infections in Vanderburgh County, 27 more in Dubois County, and 23 new cases in Gibson County.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals rose to 20 percent.

The county tallied 57 new full vaccinations and more than 500 booster shots.

No new COVID-related deaths were added in southwest Indiana on the Wednesday dashboard.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana rose slightly to 99.

Across Indiana, the agency recorded 17 new fatalities and more than 4,000 new infections.
