No New COVID Deaths in Area, Vaccinations Top 54,000 in Vanderburgh

The state has released another encouraging report on COVID-19 in southwest Indiana.

The Indiana Department of Health added no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, and Spencer counties.

Eleven new infections were recorded in Vanderburgh County, with single digit increases in surrounding counties.

The state says more than 51,400 people have been fully vaccinated in Vanderburgh.

The county’s seven-day positivity rate did rise a bit to 4.7 percent, and the number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana rose by 13 to 53.

Statewide, just three new COVID-related deaths were announced on the Monday dashboard with slightly more than 900 new infections.

Indiana’s seven-day positivity rate ticked up to 4.8 percent.

The Green River District Health Department recorded no new fatalities and just nine new infections.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the seven-county district held at eight.
