No New COVID Deaths in Area; Vaccinations Continue

No new COVID 19-related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana as more shots go into arms.

The Indiana Department of Health added no new fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

20 new infections were tallied in Vanderburgh County, along with more than 560 new full vaccinations.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate improved to 4.2 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana fell by four to 33.

Across Indiana, just seven new COVID-related deaths were added on the Thursday dashboard, but more than 1,400 new infections were recorded and the state’s seven-day positivity rate ticked up to five percent.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department announced 51 new infections but no new fatalities in the seven-county region.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients rose to eight.
