No New COVID Deaths in Area; Infections, Hospitalizations, Positivity Rate Up Slightly

No new COVID-19 related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana or western Kentucky. 

The Indiana Department of Health added no new fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties on the Wednesday dashboard.

The agency did report 25 new infections in Vanderburgh County, while the county’s positivity rate ticked up to 4.1 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana rose by 13 to 56.

Statewide, just one new COVID-related death was added but the department recorded more than 1,100 new infections.

Indiana’s positivity rate was up slightly to 3.9 percent.

The Green River District Health Department recorded 27 new infections but no new fatalities in the seven-county district of western Kentucky.

Six COVID patients were in the hospital.
