New COVID Death in Henderson County; Vaccinations Top 72,000 in Vanderburgh

Another COVID 19-related death is reported in Henderson County, while vaccinations have topped 72,000 in Vanderburgh County. 

The Green River District Health Department recorded Henderson’s 79th death of the pandemic.

The agency also tallied 26 new COVID infections and 17 current hospitalizations in its seven-county district.

The Indiana Department of Health added no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties on the Thursday dashboard.

Vanderburgh did see 16 new infections while the seven-day positivity rate among individuals held at 6.7 percent.

The county reported 470 more fully-vaccinated residents, raising the total to 72,207.

Across southwest Indiana, the number of hospitalized COVID patients fell by eleven to 31.

Statewide, Indiana recorded eight new fatalities and more than 900 new infections.
