A woman who led the merger of several chamber organizations and a regional development group in the Quad Cities area was named Thursday as the new President and CEO of the Southwest Indiana Chamber.
A release from the chamber board of directors says that Tara Barney served as CEO for the Quad Cities Chamber from 2010 through the middle of last year.
In addition to the merger of the chambers and regional development group, Barney spearheaded an effort to form what is known as Q2030, a long term vison and regional action plan to attract new business while retaining existing businesses in the Quad Cities area.
Barney has nearly 20 years experience as a chamber executive. She will take over at the local chamber in mid-March.
