More Encouraging Numbers, No New COVID Deaths

For a third straight day, no new COVID-19 deaths are recorded in the Evansville area. 

The Indiana Department of Health added no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

The agency did report 25 new infections in Vanderburgh County, but only single-digit increases in the others.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate fell to 3.1 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana rose by four to 33.

Across Indiana, 16 new COVID-related deaths were added, with about 860 infections.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded 24 new cases but no new fatalities in the seven-county district.

Just eight COVID patients were in the hospital.
