More COVID Vaccinations, Fewer New Infections in Vanderburgh County

File

Nearly 200 new vaccinations and fewer infections top Vanderburgh County’s latest COVID-19 report.

The Indiana Department of Health added 199 more full vaccinations in the county while tallying just three more cases.

On the downside, Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals rose to more than 17 percent.

Also, the number of COVID patients in the hospital continued to rise in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana – up to 70.

Across the state, it was a rare report of no new COVID-related deaths but nearly 500 new infections.

Indiana’s positivity rate was more than 12 percent.

Every state in the union has reported higher infections and hospitalizations as the virus’s delta variant has spread – especially among the unvaccinated.
