Mid-States Corridor Meetings On Tap

WFYI

Three public meetings are set for this week on a proposed road project to better connect southern Indiana and Interstate 69.

Officials say the meetings will provide an overview of the Mid-States Corridor Project and explain the road's purpose.

The corridor would start at the Natcher Bridge near Owensboro and Rockport, and run through the Huntingburg and Jasper areas before extending north to I-69.

The meetings are Monday evening at Washington High School, Tuesday evening at Springs Valley High School in French Lick, and Thursday evening at Jasper High School.

All the meetings are from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., Eastern Time.

The Indiana Department of Transportation and the Mid-States Corridor Regional Development Authority recently began work on an environmental impact statement that's required for projects that seek federal funding.
