No new COVID-19 related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana or western Kentucky, as vaccinations continue to climb.
The Indiana Department of Health recorded more than 800 new Vanderburgh County residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19, raising the total to nearly 61,500.
The agency also added no new COVID-related fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer Counties on the Friday dashboard.
16 new infections were reported in Vanderburgh, with single-digit increases in surrounding counties.
Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate for individuals fell below eight percent.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients did rise by four to 44 in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana.
Statewide, eight new fatalities were recorded with nearly 1,500 new infections.
