Local experts say human trafficking and prostitution 'a growing problem' in the Tri-State

The Trend is taking a look at human trafficking and prostitution, two separate issues that are often intertwined.

Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller unveiled a statewide billboard campaign this week that encourages people to report incidents of human trafficking. Officials say they aim to raise awareness not just among Hoosiers but also to the anticipated visitors to Indianapolis for the upcoming NCAA Final Four games. The 35 billboards will stay up until Apr. 6.

Join host Cass Herrington as she speaks with representatives from the Evansville Police Department and Albion Fellows Bacon Center about a recent prostitution sting in Evansville, the growing presence of sex transactions in the digital marketplace and what civilians and organizations can do to prevent or identify cases of human trafficking.

Event: "Human Trafficking: Myths, Facts and Community Response" Apr. 30 and May 1 at Ivy Tech Community College.
