Local COVID Cases Top 30; IN Death Toll Tops 100

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Vanderburgh County has jumped by 10.

Numbers released Friday by the Indiana State Department of Health show a total of 33 confirmed cases in Vanderburgh County.

Warrick County increased by 2 to 10 confirmed cases, Posey gained one to 5 cases, and Gibson County held steady at 4.

The numbers followed word by Deaconess Health that it can now get same-day test results for COVID-19. But Deaconess said it still can’t test everyone because of a shortage of supplies.

Meantime, the statewide death toll passed a grim milestone. The Indiana State of Health said coronavirus-related deaths surpassed 100 – to 102.

The number of confirmed cases in Indiana increased to more than 3,400. And the number of people tested approached 18,000.
